This article draws inspiration from my personal journey of self-discovery, ignited by the love and compassion of my rescue dog, Strummer. In 2016, I was emerging from a long dark phase following the death of my partner. Although I had always been a dog lover and owner, I found myself incapable of caring for another living being for the first time in my life. That changed when I visited a rescue shelter and experienced love at first sight. The phrase “who rescued who?” resonates profoundly with my story. Over the past nine and a half years and to this day, I have captured countless moments with Strummer who has become my muse and the motivation behind much of my work. Strummer's presence has been truly transformative. Through him, I have discovered a renewed sense of purpose and a deeper connection to the world around me. He has shown me the beauty in simplicity and the importance of living in the moment. With his support, I have found the courage to approach the future with hope, optimism and gratitude.
